Join us as we read  & discuss The Jumbies by  Tracey Baptiste

"The Jumbies" is a middle-grade fantasy novel by Tracey Baptiste. Set on the Caribbean island of Trinidad, the story follows Corinne, a brave and curious young girl. When a strange woman named Severine arrives on the island, unsettling events begin to occur. Corinne learns about the jumbies, mythical creatures from Caribbean folklore, and discovers that Severine is one of them, with sinister intentions. As the jumbies' influence grows stronger, they threaten the safety of Corinne's village and her family. With determination and the help of her friends, Corinne sets out to confront the jumbies and protect her loved ones. The novel explores themes of courage, friendship, and cultural folklore, weaving a captivating tale of magic, adventure, and the power of belief. We will be providing free copies to participants that register at least a week in advance, while supplies last.
