Pop Mahn-Doo (팝 만두)

Learn about Korean culture and try yummy Korean Foods! Friends living in our local community have helped us create a special kit for you that includes stories, culture, and language based on their experiences as Korean Americans.

This month's kit will include a gift card to try Pop Mahn-Doo (팝 만두), a yummy bite-sized fried vegetable dumpling appetizer at Shin's Korean Restaurant

It will also include the middle-grade book When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park.

When My Name Was Keoko Cover

"When My Name Was Keoko is a book set during the Japanese Occupation of Korea. It points out the hardships of the Korean people during Japanese rule, and what unjust laws that Japan enforced to Korean people during their rule. The Japanese rule over Korea is not really a well known topic among people. When the topic of World War II occupations is brought up, people most likely think of Nazi occupation of European nations. This book shines the light on the hostile Japanese occupation of Korea."

Please register only once per family.

Kits will be available to pick up at your library branch starting November 17. Kits not picked up after seven days will be distributed to patrons on the waitlist.
