Program Description

April is National Donate Life Month. 

Did you know one person can save and improve the lives of 75 people through organ, tissue, and eye donation? Here are ways you can participate in Donate Life Month:

  • Stop by the Veterans Memorial Library to view five quilt panels from the 78-panel Michigan Donor Remembrance Quilt. 
  • Make a no-sew Comfort Blanket. You may register for a Comfort Blanket Kit here. Completed comfort blankets are to be RETURNED to the library. 
  • Donate a Comfort Blanket. Comfort Blankets are provided to donor families at the time of a loved one's passing and often become a treasured keepsake for the family. Patrons can drop off new blankets at any CRDL location during April. Please see the criteria for blanket donation below. 
  • Join the Michigan Donor Registry. Follow the prompts here or ask a librarian to assist you. For more organ and tissue donation information, visit Gift of Life Michigan.
