Program Description

Learn more about Ukraine through cooking and reading! Our good friend Masha Smahliuk, a Ukrainian native speaker and current Mount Pleasant resident, has helped us put together a special kit for you full of items that reminded her of home. In your kit you’ll receive a copy of the Ukrainian children's book The Dyed Fox by Franko* as well as a recipe and some ingredients to make Vareniki, a traditional and very yummy Ukrainian dish.

Please register only once per family.

Kits will be available to pick up at your library branch starting on May 16th, registered kits not picked up by May 30th will be offered to patrons on the wait list.

*note on age range: While The Dyed Fox is intended for slightly older audiences, we have worked to make this kit accessible to all ages and abilities. We suggest trying this kit no matter your age or reading level.
