Program Description

Aquatic insects are an essential part of a balanced water ecosystem, and the ones that are present can tell you a great deal about pond life and how healthy or unhealthy it is. At this Kids & Culture event, children will have the opportunity to scoop water from our local Chipp-A-Waters Park pond and identify the aquatic insects living there. This event is offsite at Chipp-A-Waters Park, 1403 W High St., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. To reach the activity, please follow the trail from the main parking lot to the first pond.

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a book, May the Mayfly or Song of the Water Boatman & Other Pond Poems.

In partnership with Chippewa Watershed Conservancy

Attendees at each Kids & Culture 2023 event will be entered into a monthly drawing for (2) day passes to the Soaring Eagle Waterpark in Mt. Pleasant.
