Library Welcomes Bestselling Author-Illustrator Jan Brett

Chippewa River District Library is proud to announce an exciting event coming to Mount Pleasant! The library welcomes #1 New York Times bestselling author-illustrator Jan Brett to Sacred Heart Parish Hall on Nov. 30 at 5 p.m.
Brett will do a drawing demonstration and talk, discussing her trip to Alaska to research musk oxen. The event will also feature a book signing session, allowing readers to get copies of Brett's books signed by the author herself. The event is free to the public, but tickets are required.
"We are thrilled to have Jan Brett visit us for this book signing event," said Barb Sanford, CRDL programming coordinator. "Her books have captivated readers for years, and we are excited to have the opportunity to have her here."
Brett is the author of more than 40 picture books, including Gingerbread Baby and The Mitten. Her works have captured the hearts and minds of readers with their compelling storytelling and diverse characters. Brett's work has been chosen as "Best Children's Books of the Year" by The New Yorker, Parents, Redbook, and others.
The visit to Mount Pleasant is part of Jan Brett's Winter Wonderland Bus Tour, where she will be visiting 23 cities in just 17 days, highlighting her beloved wintry backlist books just in time for the holiday season.
"It's exciting to be part of the Winter Wonderland Bus Tour," said Sanford. "We invite everyone to join us after the event and through the weekend at the library for our Winter Wonderland family photo opportunity, crafts, and play area."
Tickets for the book signing are on a first-come, first-served basis at the door. Once tickets are acquired, attendees can visit the library for winter-themed festivities.
The author's newest release, Jan Brett's Winter Collection Box Set, will be available for purchase at the event.
